Sunday vs. Saturday Gathering
Greetings in the name of Yahusha HaMashiach, may this address find you in peace, love and light of the Ruach.
It is my sincere desire to convey a clear pleato any Hebrew who like myself is on a journey back to your roots. With this journey it has caused me to search my beliefs and see whether they align with the Law and Prophets. In many cases (perhaps like yourself) I have found some of my previous beliefs were founded upon a misrepresentation of the Word of Yahuah. Growing up as a child I attended Christian churches, was saved in the Christian church, baptized, attended seminaries, etc… Nevertheless, in my journey I have found many tenants of the Christian faith to be blatantly anti-Christ in its core. These things I have and am repenting of as I discover them. But there are of course areas within the Hebrew faith that as I research I find again, the core teachings are not based firmly and solely upon the Law and Prophets, this namely being the teaching that if you gather on Sunday you are worshipping the sun and not Elohim whom made the sun, Yahuah. I also must note this is not an indepth presentation, but rather an appeal to my fellow brothers and sisters to gather ourselves together since we are that nation not desired. (Zeph. 2:1)
Let me say clearly, I nor does Planted By Faith teach or promote that Sunday is the Sabbath day. In the book of Ezekiel he says,
Eze 37:21-22 KJV - 21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: 22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
Yah has promised to bring the True Israelites from among the other nations and unite all 12 tribes under one king, in one kingdom where we’ll no longer be divided but be one nation. One of the biggest doctrines which divides Israel today is the doctrine of Sunday vs. Saturday or as some say “Sun-god vs. Sabbath”. I understand the historical connection where Constantine changed the Sabbath and he was a sun-god worshipper, but where is the scriptural support which directly states worshipping on Sunday is equal to worshipping the sun. Since when do a particular day become equal to a deity. In fact, it should be noted well before Constantine, the ancient Egyptians worshipped the sun god Ra but guess what, it was not just on a particular day. So do we as Hebrews need to stop worshipping on any day because one of our former oppressors worshipped Ra. To my knowledge there was no set aside day to worship Ra, therefore any day was considered a day of Ra. I understand the historical doctrine, but fail to see the scriptural doctrine which forbids Israel to learn of their inheritance on any day but the Sabbath.
Secondly, if we are to operate in the same Ruach as the Mashicah then would we not be taking our knowledge to where ever Israelites gather? What then would you say is the largest gathering for the lost sheep of the House of Israel? If you said Sunday, you guessed it right! Does not Yahusha go into “Galilee of the gentiles;”?
Mat 4:15 KJV - 15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, [by] the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; The bulk of His ministry was bringing the 12 tribes back into the fold. Therefore, in the “spirit” of Yahusha we likewise should seek wise ways in which to spread the true gospel and awaken Jacob to their heritage. Now I have heard some of my brothers and sisters state, “Christ nor the disciples ever gathered on any day other than a Sabbath.” This however is not true. Don’t take my words read and believe,
Luk 19:47 KJV - 47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
Mat 26:55 KJV - 55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
Act 5:42 KJV - 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
Act 17:11 KJV – 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Lastly, consider this with me. What exactly is the original command for the Sabbath? Does scripture say it is a day of worship or a day of rest? In the book of Genesis we know Yah rested on the 7th day, He did not call creation to worship. In Exodus we see that same pattern, notice the first commandment,
Exo 20:3 KJV - 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Yahuah commanded that we have no other gods before Him. This has to do with who we worship, no matter what day it is, we are not to worship them period. The 1st through the 7th days are all days which Israel is to worship. Now I can go through and show you how there were acts of worship everyday within the ancient temple, from sacrifices, to the incense which were always burning. But this is just a plea for us to come together. We worship Yah everyday not just on the 7th day. Now notice the Sabbath command,
Exo 20:8-10 KJV - 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:
You see six days are for work, the 7th is for REST, not worship. We worship every day, we rest on the 7th day. Please do not confuse the various feast days when Israel gathered together and the Sabbath days. Yahuah rested on the 7th day, likewise Israel was to rest on the 7th day. That’s it, this is the original command.
In conclusion, again I appeal to you my brothers and sisters that we stop perpetuating the divide. Our lost brothers and sisters need to know who they are so we can return to Torah and be lead as lost sheep through the wilderness back into the land promised to us. One final point I will make however, if we are all supposed to be unified in everything we do. How can we when here in America we are under a Gregorian calendar, yet those of our people in Ethiopia (just one example) have a totally different calendar system. Just so you can see the differences I’ve posted a picture for you.
*Ethiopia is in 2011 where as America says it is 2019.
Not only does the year not align, but neither do the months align.
So Israelites in America will never be with one accord with those
in Ethiopia therefore we have to all be gathered back into our own
land as the scripture says we will be.
